Entity SEO
Entity SEO is optimization focused on making a brand an unambiguous, well-connected entity in the knowledge systems machines use — consistent naming, organization schema, Wikipedia/Wikidata presence, and corroborating third-party references. It matters for AI answers because models reason over entities and relationships, not keywords: an ambiguous entity gets conflated, ignored, or hallucinated.
Language models resolve 'Perciva' or 'Acme CRM' to an internal representation assembled from every context the name appeared in. If the name is shared with an unrelated company, spelled inconsistently, or thinly documented, that representation is blurry — and blurry entities produce merged histories, wrong categories, and confidently invented facts.
Entity work is mostly unglamorous consistency: one canonical name and description used everywhere, Organization and Product schema on your site, aligned profiles on the databases machines read (Crunchbase, LinkedIn, Wikidata, relevant registries), and enough independent coverage that the entity exists outside your own domain.
The payoff compounds across surfaces. A well-defined entity is easier to mention correctly, easier to attach accurate claims to, and easier for retrieval systems to match to category queries — which is why entity clarity is the substrate under nearly every other GEO tactic.
