Answer Diff
An answer diff is a side-by-side comparison of an AI engine's responses to the same prompt at two points in time, highlighting claims that were added, removed, or changed. It is the changelog of your AI presence: diffs reveal displacement, new hallucinations, or recovered recommendations that a single snapshot would miss.
Snapshots tell you what AI says; diffs tell you what changed and when. Because answers shift with model refreshes, retrieval changes, and new sources, the interesting signal is almost always in the delta — a competitor entering the answer, a pricing figure going stale, your product dropping from 'recommended' to 'also worth considering'.
Good diffing operates at the claim level, not the text level. Two answers can be worded completely differently while making identical claims, and near-identical wording can hide one changed fact. Diffing extracted claims filters out phrasing noise and surfaces substantive movement.
Diffs also close the loop on your own work: after you fix a page or earn a citation, the before/after diff on the affected prompts is the proof that the intervention worked. Without it, GEO efforts are unfalsifiable.
