LLM SEO

LLM SEO is an umbrella term for tactics that improve a brand's presence in large language model outputs — entity clarity, extractable definitions, citation-worthy pages, crawler access, and third-party corroboration. Used near-interchangeably with GEO and AEO, it emphasizes continuity: existing search skills extended to answer engines, rather than a discipline built from scratch.

The terminology in this space is genuinely unsettled — GEO, AEO, LLM SEO, AI SEO, and generative search optimization all describe heavily overlapping work. 'LLM SEO' tends to be used by search practitioners signaling that the craft carries over: technical hygiene, content quality, and authority still matter; the ranking function they feed has changed.

What carries over: crawlability, structured data, topical authority, digital PR. What changes: the target is inclusion in a synthesized answer rather than position on a results page, success is measured by querying models rather than reading a rank tracker, and 'content' must survive being compressed into one sentence of someone else's prose.

Whichever label a team uses, the operating loop is the same — publish extractable facts, earn citations on the sources engines trust, keep crawlers unblocked, and verify against the actual answers on a schedule.
